Sour trachanas is an authentic Greek dry pasta made with wheat, eggs and milk. It’s called ‘sour’ because traditionally they used the leftover milk or yogurt that had gone sour. Sitos Sour trachanas are made in Tripoli, Pelopponese, Greece, and are prepared according to a traditional recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation. Trachanas or Trahanas is cooked as a thick soup. To cook, add salt and butter to boiling water or milk, add pasta, stir occasionally and cook for 20 minutes. Serve with crumbled Arahova feta cheese on top for a delicious meal.
