Sow the seeds indoors between March and May. Alternatively, sow outdoors once all risk of frost has passed. Plant the seeds approximately 20mm deep and firm gently. Water lightly after sowing to settle the soil. Germination usually takes 7-12 days depending on temperature. Thin seedlings if necessary to prevent overcrowding. Avoid rich soil, as this encourages foliage growth rather than flowers. Water during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging. Allow plants to trail naturally or provide light support for climbing varieties. Remove faded flowers regularly to extend the flowering season.
